US Study abroad students with GeoBlue medical insurance coverage
This page explains how to see a general physician, Dr. Stephen Kerr, who is British and has been treating study abroad students in Florence for the last 25 years.
Most study abroad programs in Florence choose a GeoBlue insurance plan with a zero co-pay, which means there is no fee to see Dr. Kerr. He will bill GeoBlue directly.
Appointments:
Dr Kerr is available to see patients from 9.40am to 12.20pm and then after lunch from 2pm to 4.40pm Monday to Friday.
To make an appointment:
During the hours when Dr Kerr is in the office (9am to 5.00pm) you can:

When Dr Kerr isn’t in the office (after 5pm on weekdays and weekends) it is best to send an email to kerr@iol.it) and it will be read the following working day.
If this is your first appointment with Dr. Kerr, it is helpful to send him the following information to start your file:
- Your name (Mr./Ms.)
- Your date of birth (including the month spelled out)
- Your address in Florence
- Your city of birth
- Your nationality
- Your phone number (with WhatsApp, if you have it)
- Your email address
- An approximate date of when you will leave Florence
- A copy of your GeoBlue insurance card, which you may be able to find on your GeoBlue app or your program may be able to help you locate it.
